" Four Chances for Drama "

Low Fat Art Fest is pleased to present you an experimental art performance by Bangkok-based Japanese artist, Chiharu Shinoda, introducing you “Four Chances for Drama” a performing art series consists of two parts, “Sketching” and “Short Chatri”, with Faye Katechaya and Mai Nakabayashi.

“Four Chances for Drama” was created in 2014 as part of a performance series. This piece works as trial performance which explores the idea and concept of drama from the perspectives of body, score, sketch and text as abstract meaning to be interpreted from the original one.
“Sketching” with Faye Katechaya
What do you see in the theatre?
What is that mean “seeing” in the show?
You will see a female model and draw her if you want.
This is a practical project to think about relationship between audience and observation.
“Short Chatri” with Mai Nakabayashi
Mai Nakabayashi learned a dance of cat in Bangkok, Nang Lerng. Her technique based on ballet, so she tried to transform her body into Thai dance. Mai shows the process of learning by teacher’s body to her body without oral communication.

About Aritst:
Chiharu Shinoda was born in Tokyo in 1982. She started her career with FAIFAI, which was founded in 2004 by students of her same faculty of Tama Art University. The company received invitations from both Japanese and overseas festivals and theatres, and received the top prize at Zürcher Theatre Spektakels ZKB Patronage in 2010. Since 2012, she has been based in Bangkok as an independent artist. She is a Saison Foundation Junior Fellow for the 2016 fiscal year.

“Four Chances for Drama” เริ่มต้นขึ้นเมื่อปี 2014 เพื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชุดการแสดง งานชิ้นนี้เป็นงานทดลองโดยการสำรวจแนวความคิดของละครเวที จากมุมมองของร่างกาย ดนตรีประกอบ ภาพสเก็ตช์ และตัวหนังสือในความหมายเชิงนามธรรมที่ถูกตีความจากตัวต้นฉบับ

“Short Chatri”
ร่วมกับ Mai Nakabayashi
Mai Nakabayashi ได้เรียนการรำไทยแบบตัวละครแมวในย่านนางเลิ้ง ในกรุงเทพมหานคร เธอพยายามแปลงร่างกายของเธอสู่การรำไทยโดยใช้มาตรฐานมาจากความสามารถในการเต้นบัลเลต์ การแสดงของ Mai แสดงถึงกระบวนการเรียนรู้จากร่างกายของอาจารย์มาสู่เธอ โดยปราศจากการสื่อสารผ่านคำพูด
การแสดงนี้ ได้รับการสนับสนุนโดย: The Saison Foundation, Tentacles, Poop Press, Asian Centre, Baan Nang Lerng.
ประวัติศิลปิน
ชิฮารุ ชิโนดะ เกิดเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1982 ที่กรุงโตเกียว เธอเริ่มต้นการทำงานกับกลุ่ม FAIFAI ซึ่งก่อตั้งขึ้นปี 2004 โดยนักศึกษาจาก Tama Art University กลุ่มของเธอได้รับการเชิญจากเทศกาลและโรงละครทั้งในญี่ปุ่นและหลากประเทศทั่วโลก และยังได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศจาก Zürcher Theatre Spektakels ZKB Patronage ในปี 2010 เธอย้ายมาพำนักในกรุงเทพมหานคร ตั้งแต่ปี 2012 ในฐานะศิลปินอิสระ และยังเป็น Junior Fellow ของปี 2016 ในมูลนิธิ Saison Foundation อีกด้วย
