PROJECT MANAGER, FOREST MANAGEMENT BUREAU PHILS
Marlon M. Atienza graduated with a degree in BS Forestry from the University of the Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB) in 2000. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Public Management Major in Rural Development (MPM-RD) from the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in 2018.
He joined government service in 2002 as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DENR-CARP). In 2013, he transferred to the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) as the Planning Officer of the Forestland Management Project (FMP), a watershed rehabilitation project being implemented by the DENR through the FMB. In 2016, he was also designated as the Regional Project Manager of a Landscape Restoration Project under the ASEAN – Korea Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) involving Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore.
In 2019, he was designated as the Project Manager of FMP, and from 2021 to June 2022, as the Chief, Forest Plans and Standards Section of Forest Policy, Planning, and Knowledge Management Division of the FMB, in concurrent capacity. Currently, he is the Chief of the Forest Resource Use and Assessment Section of Forest Resources Management Division of the DENR-FMB, and at the same time the Project Manager of FMP.
