Midnight Call by Benzilla
นิทรรศการศิลปะเต็มรูปแบบครั้งแรกของ Benzilla เรียกได้ว่าเป็นศิลปินเบอร์ท็อปของวงการสตรีท อาร์ต ในบ้านเราเลยก็ว่าได้ สำหรับ Benzilla – ปริญญา ศิริสินสุข ผู้เป็นเจ้าของคาแรคเตอร์ LOOOK มนุษย์ต่างดาวสามตาที่ฮิตไปทั่วบ้านทั่วเมือง ล่าสุดนี้ เขาก็ตั้งใจสร้างสรรค์นิทรรศการศิลปะเต็มรูปแบบครั้งแรกโดยเป็นความร่วมมือระหว่าง ริเวอร์ ซิตี้ แบงค็อกและ Trendy Gallery นอกจากนี้นี่ยังเป็นการแสดงนิทรรศการครั้งล่าสุดหลังจากที่ห่างหายไปนานถึง 7 ปี ซึ่งรับรองว่างานนี้ เขาจัดหนัก จัดเต็มแบบไม่มีกั๊กแน่นอน
นิทรรศการครั้งนี้มีชื่อว่า Midnight Call เป็นการอุปมาอุปมัยถึง ช่วงเวลาเที่ยงคืน อันเป็นช่วงดึกสงัดที่ศิลปินทำงานอยู่เงียบๆ คนเดียว ต้องเผชิญหน้ากับความกังวลกับสิ่งต่างๆ ที่อยู่ภายในจิตใจ อีกทั้งผลงานในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ล้วนถูกสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นในช่วงโควิด ที่ทุกคนต้อง Work From Home ทำให้ Benzilla ได้ใช้เวลาอยู่กับตัวเอง ทบทวนสิ่งต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นทั้งในอดีต ปัจจุบัน และอนาคต จนตกผลึกความคิดดีๆ หลายอย่าง และเกิดเป็นแรงบันดาลใจที่ทำให้เขาอยากกลับมาแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยวอีกครั้ง หลังจากห่างหายไปนานถึง 7 ปี
Benzilla ได้ใช้จิตวิญญาณในการถ่ายทอดตัวตน ความคิดที่ตกผลึก ตลอดจนรวบรวมไอเดียใหม่ๆ มาใช้ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ โดยเล่าผ่านคาแรคเตอร์ประจำตัว คือ LOOOK ซึ่งจะมีทั้งผลงานจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และสเก็ตบอร์ด ในส่วนของจิตรกรรมนั้น Benzilla ได้เลือกใช้เทคนิคสื่อผสมที่เขาถนัด เช่น การพ่นสเปรย์บนไม้เพื่อตอกย้ำ
ความเป็นสตรีทอาร์ต การเพ้นท์ด้วยสีอะคริลิคในพาเลตต์สีเฉพาะตัว หรืออาจเรียกได้ว่าเป็นเฉดสีสไตล์ Benzilla ซึ่งเขาได้สั่งทำสีพิเศษจากโรงงานผลิตสีในนิวยอร์คมาใช้ในการสร้างผลงานชุดนี้โดยเฉพาะ นอกจากนี้ยังมีการใช้เทคนิคฉลุลาย (Stencil) เข้ามาผสมผสาน ตลอดจนมีการพัฒนาการจัดองค์ประกอบ การใช้สีสันที่จัดจ้านซับซ้อนมากขึ้น
สิ่งที่พิเศษสุดสำหรับนิทรรศการนี้คือ Benzilla ได้เปิดตัวภาพที่ใช้เทคนิคใหม่ล่าสุดที่เขาคิดค้นขึ้นและไม่เคยจัดแสดงที่ไหนมาก่อน คือเทคนิคไดคัทบนผืนผ้าใบ ซึ่งผู้ชมจะได้ชมที่นิทรรศนี้เป็นครั้งแรก โดยงานทุกชิ้น Benzilla ได้พิถีพิถันในทุกๆรายละเอียดและผลิตขึ้นในจำนวนจำกัด ให้แฟนๆ ตัวจริงของเขาได้สะสมกัน
นอกจากสีสันและเทคนิคอันโดดเด่นแล้ว งานของ Benzilla ยังแฝงไปด้วยควาหมายอันลุ่มลึกที่เขามีต่อโลกใบนี้ เช่น ในงานจิตรกรรมและประติมากรรม คาแรคเตอร์ LOOOK ได้ถือลูกแก้วซึ่งสื่อถึงภาวะจิตของมนุษย์ที่มีทั้งสว่างไสวและเสื่อมถอย งานเพ้นท์บนสเก็ตบอร์ดที่สื่อถึงช่วงเวลาเช้า กลางวัน เย็น ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของทุกชีวิต
Benzilla ชวนให้ผู้ชมมาสำรวจจิตใจ เวลา รวมทั้งอดีต ปัจจุบัน และอนาคตของตนเอง เช่นเดียวกับที่เขาทำเมื่อสร้างงานชุด “Midnight Call”
เบนซิลล่า (Benzilla) หรือที่รู้จักในชื่อ ปริญญา ศิริสินสุข เกิดที่กรุงเทพฯ ประเทศไทย งานศิลปะของเขาได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากวัฒนธรรมป๊อบ, ดนตรี, วัฒนธรรมสตรีท, ของเล่น และ หนังไซไฟ เบนซิลล่าบอกเล่าแนวคิดของเขาผ่านตัวละครสามตา “LOOOK” ซึ่งเป็นมนุษย์ต่างดาว ไม่ทราบที่มาที่ไป แต่มาอาศัยอยู่บนมนุษ์โลกเพื่อสำรวจความบ้าคลั่งของดาวเคราะห์ดวงนี้
ผลงานของเขาผสมผสานการวาดภาพ การพ่นสี และศิลปะภาพพิมพ์เพื่อสร้างงานศิลปะที่โดดเด่น ไม่ซ้ำแบบใคร ในช่วงเวลาไม่กี่ปีที่ผ่านมาเบนซิลลาได้ร่วมงานกับแบรนด์ระดับโลก อาทิ Adidas, Levi’s, Samsung, McDonald’s, Disney, Lacoste, Four Seasons Hotel, MCM, Johnnie Walker, HP และ Hario

Midnight Call, a solo exhibition by Benzilla.
Known as one of the most renowned Thai street artists, Benzilla or Parinya Sirisinsuk, the creator of the famous character, LOOOK or a three-eye alien has worked on this special solo exhibition in collaboration with River City Bangkok and Trendy Gallery. This is his most recent exhibition after a 7-year hiatus!
‘Midnight Call’ is a metaphor of nighttime, a time when the artist worked on his project alone while coping with the anxiety inside his mind. All artworks in the exhibition were created during the time of Covid-19 where most people worked from home. It was the time that allowed Benzilla to spend time on his own and reflect about his past, present and future. During the night, he crystallized a wide range of good ideas that tremendously inspired him to have a solo exhibition for the first time in 7 years.
Benzilla connected with his inner self and employed his crystalized thoughts and new ideas to produce artworks for this exhibition. He narrates stories through his highly recognisable signature character, ‘LOOOK’. The exhibition features paintings, sculptures and skateboards. All of his artworks have been painted with mixed-media technique involving spray paints, which are the signature of street art, and acrylic paints of his special colour palette or you can call them “Benzilla’s colours” as they are customized color schemes produced in New York. Stencil is another technique that he employed.
What’s so special about this exhibition is that Benzilla has released his newfound techniques that have never been exhibited anywhere before. It is a die-cut on the canvas technique which the audience will see at this exhibition for the first time!
With every piece of work, Benzilla has meticulously paid attention to every detail for his fans to collect these masterpieces which are produced in limited numbers.
In addition to striking colors and innovative techniques, Benzilla’s work reveals his deep and meaningful thoughts toward the world onto his artworks. His character “LOOOK” is shown playing with numerous marbles, representing various states of human minds that are bright with optimism and dim with fear. His painted skateboards reflect the times of day that everyone experiences: dawn, noon, and evening.
Benzilla urges you to examine your own mind, your own time, and your own past, present, and future while visiting the exhibition, just like he did when producing “Midnight Call.”
About the Artist
Benzilla, also known as Parinya Sirisinsuk, was born in Bangkok, Thailand. His artworks are inspired by Pop Culture, Music, Street Culture, Skateboarding, Toys, and Sci-Fi Movies. He introduces his concept through the three-eyed character “LOOOK,” an alien that comes from nowhere to live with us to see how this crazy planet is going.
His work combines craft painting, spray painting, and graphic art to create one-of-a-kind artwork. Benzilla has worked with worldwide brands such as Adidas, Levi’s, Samsung, McDonald’s, Disney, Lacoste, Four Seasons Hotel, MCM, Johnnie Walker, HP, and Hario in recent years.
