Polyjuice
The Diverse Tastes of Aesthetics
If anyone is familiar with world-famous fantasy novels and movies like Harry Potter, they may be familiar with the name of a magical object that plays a significant role in the story. "Polyjuice Potion” was a potion that allowed the drinker to assume the form of someone else. No matter how old the person is or what gender they are, as long as they have first procured part of that individual's body to add to the brew.
Therefore, when we want to define the art group show of artists of different genders, ages, and personalities gathered in one exhibition especially when because each artist's work of art is undeniably part of the identity and mindset of their creator. We borrowed part of the name of this magic object to name the exhibition "Polyjuice", which has a meaning that conveys the different aesthetics in the artist's work in this exhibition.
The exhibition consists of works of art in 5 styles from 5 artists such as
Chayanich Muangthai - The painter uses bold colors from the Impasto technique to convey inspiration from the reflections of flowers. The tinted and discolored sunlight reflected on the windshield as she drove outside her home during the COVID-19 pandemic. A semi-abstract painting modeled on a car window glass, Artists allow moving colors to overlap back and forth. Sometimes the intention is to move flowing and tattered Bold color textures from repeated overlaps. Or the arbitrary forcing of paint is created through the process of creation and destruction. to explore the relationship of a phenomenon that is both chaotic and cute at the same time
Amnaj Wachirasut - An inner-sense painter inspired by life experiences. both events and places that have ever been encountered or information in various media around, including photographs, print media or the internet to be reinterpreted as a semi-abstract painting that uses only minimal colors Using traces on the surface to react with light and shadow creates a visual dimension. to explore the mental state of both the creator and the audience at the same time
Gumsak Atipiboonsin - The Artist's works of art are similar to the art movement called Abstract Expressionism. That emphasizes the expression of emotions and feelings through art without being attached to reality. It is an instinctual manifestation of sudden movement. It is the most straightforward way to convey their emotions, feelings, and inner impulses on canvas. Colors and traces on the canvas are independent of any content, story, or purpose. But it is the essence, the beauty, and the truth itself.
Wasanti Petchkul - A painter creates works by superimposing the painting on a small plane until it forms a layer of paint. To illustrate the phenomenon of space and time without telling any story. with the belief that painting does not need to represent anything but can express one's pure self by letting the "painting" express the "painting" that is the content of one's own. Wasanti's work shows us that the process of work is in essence and in no way inferior to the outcome.
Sudaporn Teja - Abstract painter The creators of the works by using a thin layer of paint convey the impression of nature and surroundings. including the media reflecting the state in the subconscious mind and social issues Her work was inspired by a trip back home to the mountain in Chiang Mai. One morning when the fog was so thick that she walked in and couldn't see herself. That experience made her feel like she was invisible. It's just a tiny fraction. Only part of this world But on the other hand, it reminds you that you are one with the world as well.
Artwork that expresses personality and uniqueness is no different from the fingerprints or DNA of each artist in this exhibition. Waiting for all audiences to come to explore and taste the various aesthetics today.
